2-Time WWE Champion Makes Wrestling Return After 9-Year Hiatus
2-Time WWE Champion Candice Michelle is back in the wrestling world.
Legend Candice Michelle officially retired from in-ring competition in December 2017, although she made some sporadic appearances for the Stamford-based promotion even after hanging up her wrestling boots.
She was spotted sitting at ringside during the January 15 TNA premiere episode on AMC. A week later, Fightful reported that she was seen backstage at TNA IMPACT taping in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Following her backstage appearance, Candice went on Instagram to confirm her presence on the TNA show in Mexico. Teasing the beginning of a fresh new chapter in her professional career, she announced her official return to the wrestling world, though she didn’t mention in what capacity.
Candice wrote, “Agent, talent, or something in between? The next chapter is closer than you think… #StayTuned #WrestlingMystery #AlignmentInTheRing #champcandice #emotionalalignmentcoach SOGOOD”

Michelle wrestled her last match against Lisa Marie Varon at HOH 36 Blizzard Brawl 2017 in December 2017. Her last WWE match came in February 2009, which was a loss against Beth Phoenix on Monday Night Raw.
TNA Welcomes Other WWE Talents
The Thursday Night Impact’s AMC premiere episode on January 15 also saw other former and current WWE talents make their debut and return to TNA.
Daria Rae (formerly Sonya Deville in WWE) debuted in an on-screen management role as the Director of Operations. She then introduced Elayna Black (formerly Cora Jade), who made her in-ring return to TNA programming on the show.
WWE legend and TNA original AJ Styles also made a one-night return to TNA to hype the live crowd and the show’s new era.
