Ahead of Brock Lesnar’s fake retirement, it was rumored that he would be retired at the hands of ex-World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. Now that The Beast Incarnate is back, the idea doesn’t seem so far-fetched anymore.

Brock Lesnar made a retirement gesture at WrestleMania 42 after he lost a singles match to Oba Femi. However, only a few weeks later, he showed up on Monday Night Raw and brutally attacked The Ruler, setting up a rematch between them at the upcoming Clash Nightly premium live event on May 30.

A new report from Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select has highlighted that Brock Lesnar is not planning to hang up his boots after his match against Oba Femi at Clash Nightly and will continue to make appearances in WWE afterward.

This is good news for Gunther, who is reportedly very interested in retiring Brock Lesnar.

Gunther Is Interested In Retiring Brock Lesnar

The Ring General is set to face The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes at Clash in Italy for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Ahead of his scheduled match, he appeared in an interview with Rompipallone, where he was asked if he was interested in retiring The Beast Incarnate. Gunther replied that if WWE gives him a chance to do it, he won’t turn it down.

“Yeah, if I get the chance, of course I’ll do it. Who would turn it down?” H/T Ringside News

In the past year, Gunther has earned himself the moniker of Career Killer after he retired three of the biggest legends in the wrestling business. He retired Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July 2025, John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025, and AJ Styles at Royal Rumble 2026.

According to the rumor mill, Gunther might also retire Randy Orton or Rey Mysterio in the future. But when Gunther was asked who he wanted to retire next from WWE, he picked Sheamus.
