“He Puts Me To Sleep” – Ex-WWE Star Isn’t A Gunther Fan

Gunther cuts a promo on WWE Raw

Gunther will defend the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.

His opponent is CM Punk, who won the right to challenge for the title after winning a gauntlet match on the July 14 episode of WWE RAW.

For two consecutive weeks since then, both men have been in dedicated segments, cutting promos about their bout at ‘the Biggest Party of the Summer.’

SummerSlam will be a two-nighter for the first time in the premium live event’s history, with the Gunther-Punk match scheduled on August 2.

Meanwhile, an ex-WWE star has claimed not to be a fan of The Ring General, stating that he puts him to sleep.

Jonathan Coachman Is Not A Gunther Fan

Former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman hosted the latest episode of The Last Word podcast, where the panel discussed SummerSlam.

Tommy Carlucci speculated on Seth Rollins’ injury to be a ‘work,’ and that fans might witness a Money in the Bank briefcase cash-in by the time Gunther vs. CM Punk ends.

Carlucci also said it could be one of the biggest works of all time when Coach made his stand clear about the Austrian wrestler.

Or it could be one of the biggest naps of all time, too, cos I gotta do a show. Gunther?!

I got yelled at today by Mark Henry. He’s like, “You don’t know wrestling. You don’t know about big guys’ work. You don’t know all this kind of stuff.” And I’m like, “I know this. He (Gunther) puts me to sleep.” He works so slow.

Gunther has been the world champion since June 6, 2025, in his second run.
