Ex-WWE Champion Credits Batista For Rescuing Him From Embarrassing Situation
This former WWE star praises Dave Batista in a podcast.
Former WWE star turned popular internet personality, Maven, is very honest about the behind-the-scenes of the wrestling business, especially in WWE, and about his former co-stars.
Whether he has good or bad things to say about them, he always gives it straight, and in this case, he credits and praises WWE Legend Dave Batista for once saving him from an embarrassing situation.
Former WWE Star Maven Says Batista Let Him Borrow His Suit
When Maven and other stars were asked to dress nicely for the Hall of Fame event before WrestleMania in 2005, the suit Maven had gotten custom-made wasn’t delivered to his hotel room in time.
Luckily for the former Hardcore Champion, Dave Batista lent him one of the many suits he had. Speaking to Mad Mac Davis and Teddy Long, Maven tells the story when Davis shows him a picture of himself with Stacy Keibler from 2005, where he’s wearing a suit.
Maven: Here’s the funny story about that picture. That was in 2005 Wrestlemania in LA. Now, that was the first year that they were going to be televising that Hall of Fame ceremony.
So, they told us in plenty of advanced time, make sure you have something nice to wear. So, I went out. I bought my
very first custommade suit. I I mean, I spent about $1,000 on it. I was so excited about it.Here’s the problem. That suit did not get mailed to the hotel in time. And the suit I’m wearing with Stacy in that picture, if you can believe it, I swear on my life, that’s Batista’s suit. When the day Yeah. When the day came and my suit was not at the hotel, I went to the only man I knew had a closet full of suits in LA, Dave Batista.
Davis: And no problem, huh?
Maven: Oh, well, it was it was big. I’m not gonna lie. It was big, but it but it got the job done. And I asked I went to Dave and I asked the favor and he was like,
“Oh, yeah, no problem.” He’s like, “Just don’t wear this one.” He’s like, “That’s the one I’m wearing.” And yeah, that was it. (16:16 onwards)
Maven and Teddy Long then praise Batista for being one of the nicest and most helpful people in the business, with Maven revealing that Batista even helped him financially during tough times.
