31-Year-Old WWE Star Announces Hiatus: “I’m Disappointed In Myself”

This WWE star has decided to go on hiatus to get her game back.

It has been observed that when someone goes on a long losing streak in WWE, it’s a sign that they’ll be released from the company. In the case of WWE star Kali Armstrong, though, she was ahead of time in deciding to take a hiatus before losing any more bouts.

The Evolve performer, who signed with the Stamford-based promotion in 2023, made her onscreen debut on the September 20, 2024, episode of NXT Level Up. She mostly wrestled on the Evolve brand, where she was its inaugural Women’s Champion.

Armstrong defended her title successfully against Kendal Grey and Natalya, among others. Her streak ended on October 15. 2025 at Evolve: Succession, where she lost the title to current champion Kendal Grey.

Armstrong would go on to lose 5 bouts in a row following the title loss, leading her to reconsider her immediate future.

WWE Star Kali Armstrong Announces Indefinite Hiatus

Kali announced in the latest episode of Evolve that she was going on an indefinite hiatus as she wants to get that fire back that helped her become champion initially. A user on X posted her backstage interview with Chuey Martinez.

I’m disappointed in myself. I’m not used to racking up losses like this. I’m too strong, Armstrong. I’m the difference maker.I gotta get that dog back in me.

That dog that got me to USC. That dog that had me running circles around these chicks on my way to becoming Evolve Women’s Champion.

Maybe I need to go back home for a minute until I can remember who I am and where I came from.
