Drew McIntyre Sparks Main Event Chaos On WWE SmackDown Once Again
The main event of WWE SmackDown saw the beginning of a new rivalry as Randy Orton and Aleister Black faced each other for the first time in singles action tonight.
The two men have met each other in multi-person matches in the past, but tonight was the first time they faced each other one-on-one. Black returned to SmackDown a couple of weeks ago after being out for a while.
He hadn’t been seen since his loss to Damian Priest in an Ambulance Match, but returned to take part in the first Elimination Chamber qualifier, where he faced Randy Orton and Solo Sikoa.
Aleister Black earns a huge win on WWE SmackDown
Orton defeated both men to become the first person to qualify for the Chamber match, but Black has been after the Viper since then. He claims that the current version of Randy Orton isn’t the same as the one who won 14 World Championships.
Black made similar claims on tonight’s episode as well, which caused Orton to talk to Nick Aldis and get himself a match against Black. He dominated the majority of the match and almost got the win over Black.
He hit him with a draping DDT from the announce table to the floor, before getting Black in the ring. He would’ve won the match at that point, but was instead hit in the face with the WWE Championship by Drew McIntyre, before he was chased away by Cody Rhodes. However, he had done enough damage by that point that Black hit a Black Mass on Orton and got himself a huge win.
