Cody Rhodes Allegedly Will NOT Be The Undisputed WWE Champion Heading Into SummerSlam

Cody Rhodes is the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, but a top star has claimed that he will take away the title from Rhodes before SummerSlam.

The June 19 edition of Friday Night SmackDown saw Jey Uso beat Je’Von Evans in the semifinals of the King of the Ring tournament. He will now face Oba Femi in the final round of the tournament at Night of Champions on June 27.

Following his victory over Evans, Jey Uso bumped into Cody Rhodes backstage. Cody congratulated Jey on his victory.

Jey replied that he’s coming after Cody’s title and fully intends to dethrone him. Cody reminded Jey that he still has to beat Oba Femi to challenge him for the title.

Jey: What’s up, Uce?

Cody: Congratulations. One to go.

Jey: One to go, Cody. Then at SummerSlam, Uce. And then here comes the blitz, QB1.

Cody: Well, don’t forget about Oba. And besides Jey, I’m easy to find.

After Rhodes left, Jey Uso crossed paths with Sami Zayn. The two friends exchanged pleasantries before talking business. Sami Zayn said he believes in Jey Uso and knows Jey will beat Oba Femi in the King of the Ring tournament finals.

Sami Zayn Says He’ll Beat Cody Rhodes at Night Of Champions

Sami added that Jey will face him for the Undisputed WWE Championship, not Cody Rhodes, because he will beat The American Nightmare at Night of Champions for the title.

Sami: I just wanted to tell you, look, I think you’re doing great. I really do. I see what you’re doing. I think you’re gonna win the King of the Ring. I do, I think you’re gonna go on to SummerSlam. I think you’re gonna wrestle the WWE Champion. I just, I don’t think it’s gonna be Cody Rhodes. I think it’s gonna be me. So what do we do when that happens?

Jey: Man, you know me, Sami. Imma have to do what I have to do, Uce.

Sami Zayn and Gunther will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Triple Threat match at Night of Champions.
