Cody Rhodes Namedrops The Rock On WWE SmackDown; Brings Up Viral Conspiracy Theory
WWE WrestleMania 42 is going to be an important night for Cody Rhodes as he defends his Undisputed WWE Championship during the main event of Night One of the show.
He will be facing his friend-turned-rival, Randy Orton, at the Showcase of the Immortals, after he won the Elimination Chamber match to become the number one contender for the title.
Orton kicked off the WrestleMania edition of WWE SmackDown tonight and went on a scathing rant about Rhodes and left the building before the American Nightmare came out in the main event.
Cody addressed the Las Vegas fans in attendance, and right off the bat, he said that he won’t be talking about the last three WrestleManias and the conspiracy theory about someone messing with him over the last few years.

He name-dropped The Rock during his promo as he referenced the inclusion of the Final Boss in his rivalry with Roman Reigns leading up to WrestleMania XL. He talked about his match against Randy Orton, as he said that he doesn’t believe in the conspiracy theory.
Rhodes spoke about defeating Randy at WrestleMania before he was interrupted by a surprise appearance from the World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk. Punk came out and offered some words of encouragement to his friend Cody Rhodes.
They both showed mutual love and respect for each other, and Cody Rhodes’ voice broke after he mentioned that his father, Dusty Rhodes, would be so proud of who CM Punk has become. The two men shared an embrace before celebrating with the fans as the show went off air.
