CM Punk wasn’t happy with what a fan did after his WrestleMania 42 match.

In the main event of WrestleMania 42 Sunday in Las Vegas, CM Punk lost the World Heavyweight Title to Roman Reigns in what was considered a WrestleMania classic.

The closing moments of the match saw Punk attempt to hit Reigns with a second Go To Sleep knee, but Punk collapsed when he tried to lift Reigns. That led to Reigns hitting his patented Spear two times in a row to pick up the victory and become a 7-time WWE World Champion.

After the match, CM Punk was hobbling around ringside and even collapsed a few times, although it was likely a case of Punk selling the fact that he was in a 35-minute main event match. It doesn’t appear as if he was seriously injured.

Later that evening, after WrestleMania 42, TMZ obtained footage of CM Punk confronting a fan. In the video, Punk’s WWE friend, Bayley, was hugging someone in the lobby of the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino on the Vegas Strip. It may have been Punk’s wife, AJ Lee, who is a close friend of Bayley, but her face wasn’t shown. While the hug was going on, a fan was taking a photo or filming a video of it, so an enraged Punk smacked the phone out of the man’s hand.

As seen in the video, security got in there between Punk and the man with the phone to prevent anything from happening. Punk’s good friend, former wrestler Ace Steel, was also seen in the video trying to calm Punk down. The fan could be heard saying “sorry” to Punk and “bad day” as well. Punk then walked with the woman Bayley was hugging, who is likely AJ Lee.

CM Punk Earned Roman Reigns’ Respect At WrestleMania

During the build up to the CM Punk-Roman Reigns match at WrestleMania 42, the two future Hall of Famers engaged in a lot of trash talk. They took different paths to become main-eventers in WWE, but they also proved themselves as legends many times over.

Following his WrestleMania victory, Roman Reigns praised CM Punk for putting on a great match with him and said that he respected Punk.

“The fact that I’m the Tribal Chief and I still hear people out here chanting for CM Punk, I have to respect that. Do I respect the man and his personal life? I don’t know. But when it comes to when he steps into the arena when the rings set up, I have a lot of respect for the man that shows up and performs for these people because he puts his heart and soul on the line.

Do we see eye to eye? Hell no. Are we cut from the same fabric? Hell no. But we’re part of the same fraternity, so if you can go out there and main event and put it on the line and actually hold your own. CM Punk didn’t just run his mouth he backed it up, he just ran into a better man tonight.”

Roman Reigns has said he’ll be on the April 20th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw in Las Vegas, but there’s no official word on whether Punk will be there too.
