Claudio Castagnoli Suggests Blackpool Combat Club’s First Female Member

Claudio Castagnoli

Claudio Castagnoli has given a strong suggestion who from AEW’s women’s division would be a good fit for the Blackpool Combat Club.

Quickly coming together during March 2022’s AEW Revolution, The Blackpool Combat Club is now one of the most dominant factions in AEW. Formed by William Regal, he added to his ranks with the likes of Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli, who joined Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley.

In a discussion on the AEW Unrestricted Podcast, Claudio Castagnoli gave his opinion on how he felt would be suitable to join the ranks of the team. Looking at the women’s division, ‘The Swiss Superman’ didn’t hesitate on who he would pick.

I would pick Serena Deeb. I think she’d be a good fit for Blackpool Combat Club.

Serena Deeb has been with AEW since September 2020, when she went up against Thunder Rosa in a match which earned plenty of plaudits. Deeb would go on to face the likes of Tay Conti, Allysin Kay and Riho in those early days, and was the reigning NWA Women’s Champion.

It would seem Deeb would face competition for a space in the Blackpool Combat Club, as Jamie Hayter recently spoke about how she would love to join the faction – if she wasn’t aligned with Dr Britt Baker.

Yes, absolutely. I would love to be [in Blackpool Combat Club]. If I wasn’t with Britt, I would be gunning to go to the BCC. It’s just because they kick a**. That’s my sh*t. They do the stuff I love doing. I’m a bit rough around the edges and things like that like a usual British person is. I would love to be under their wing and learn from them and be more of a lethal weapon. I’ll be the new Steve Blackman [laughs].

Claudio Castagnoli has been reigning as the ROH World Champion, defeating Jonathan Gresham for the title in July 2022.
