Chris Jericho Suffers Shocking Loss To Debuting Star On AEW Dynamite

Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho got more than he bargained for when he was looking for a warmup match on AEW Dynamite!

ROH Final Battle saw Claudio Castagnoli capture the ROH World Championship for a second time when he defeated Chris Jericho, who’d beaten Castagnoli for the same title back at AEW Grand Slam. Enraged by the loss, Jericho cut a promo on the Winter is Coming edition of Dynamite in which he claimed he needed a warmup match as he prepared to regain the title from Castagnoli once again.

Later that night, Chris Jericho went one on one with Action Andretti, who was making his AEW Dynamite debut. Irritated by the crowd reminding him of ROH Final Battle with chants of “you tapped out,” Jericho started the match by toying with Andretti, slapping his face and gloating. However, when Andretti slapped him back, he began stomping the young star in the corner, and the match kicked into another gear.

Andretti proved to put up more of a fight than Jericho was expecting, and the young star shocked everyone when he kicked out of Jericho’s signature Codebreaker in the middle of the match. The crowd was vehemently behind Andretti for the rest of the bout, and when he managed to pin the Demo God after a shooting star press, the crowd in Garland, TX erupted.

The shocked Chris Jericho stayed dumbfounded in the ring while Andretti celebrated with the crowd.

Later in the evening, AEW President Tony Khan took to social media to announce that Action Andretti was officially All Elite.

While this is Andretti’s AEW Dynamite debut, he has appeared previously on Dark and Dark Elevation.
