Chelsea Green Breaks Silence On Zack Ryder’s WWE Return

Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green has more reasons to celebrate than winning the Women’s United States Championship for the second time.

On the November 7 taping of SmackDown, Green faced then-US Champion Giulia for the title.

In a shocking turn of events, she beat the Japanese star to become the only two-time Women’s US Champion in WWE.

More recently, her husband, Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder), made his return to the main roster of the Stamford promotion after five years.

As a freelancer, he has competed in Total Nonstop Action and the independent circuit since his release from the company in 2020.

He recently made an appearance on NXT during the NXT-TNA Showdown storyline, representing TNA against WWE’s developmental brand.

Upon his return on SmackDown, his character was reverted to Zack Ryder, as he was revealed as LA Knight’s mystery opponent in John Cena’s “Last Time Is Now” tournament.

Although he lost the match, Chelsea Green couldn’t have been prouder of her husband.

The 34-year-old took to X to post an emotional message.

Over the last several weeks, Green had been attempting to get Ryder back into WWE.

Chelsea Green Confronts Nick Aldis

Chelsea Green was featured in a backstage segment on the latest SmackDown taping, confronting General Manager Nick Aldis.

For the second consecutive week, Aldis was approached by R-Truth in the hopes of being added to John Cena’s tournament.

After Truth left, Green, accompanied by Alba Fyre, accused him of canceling her Women’s United States Championship celebration. She further stated that they could have the celebration next week, to which Aldis agreed.

Elsewhere, Jey Uso, too, made it to the next round of the ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament after beating The Miz.
