Brian Cage has revealed that when he was in school, he often spoke about pro wrestling with a legendary NFL quarterback who was a classmate at the time.

There is a group in AEW right now called the Mogul Embassy that is led by Swerve Strickland with Prince Nana as the manager. The Mogul Embassy trio of Brian Cage, Kaun and Toa Liona have been the ROH Trios Tag Team Champions for over nine months.

As a pro wrestler with nearly 20 years of experience, Brian Cage has been a part of AEW since 2020 and is regularly featured on the ROH brand.

During an interview on AEW’s Hey! (EW) show with RJ City, Cage revealed he actually went to school with four-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl Champion Aaron Rodgers. Both men grew up in Chico, California. Rodgers will turn 40 years old in December while Cage is 39 years old.

“You know what’s so cool about him? He was a really cool guy. Everyone, that was the Attitude Era, everyone watched wrestling, doesn’t matter how much they said they didn’t watch wrestling. Everyone watched wrestling.”

“Him, still a high school quarterback, popular guy, he never faded once. He knew I was a huge wrestling fan, so math class, we would always talk. ‘Man, you watch Raw last night? You watch Nitro?’ He knew.”

Brian Cage’s classmate Aaron Rodgers is a future NFL Hall of Famer

Aaron Rodgers spent the majority of his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers where he won four NFL MVP Awards. Many people consider him to be one of the greatest players in NFL history. This past offseason, Rodgers was a free agent who signed with the New York Jets. It led to a lot of anticipation for a Jets franchise that hasn’t had much success in recent years.

Unfortunately for Rodgers, four plays into his first game of week one on September 11th, he was injured on a play and it was revealed to be a torn Achilles tendon. It is likely a season-ending injury for Rodgers, who has an outside shot of returning if they make the playoffs. Most likely, he won’t play again until the 2024 season.

As for Brian Cage, he will team up with Kaun and Toa Liona against The Elite’s “Hangman” Adam Page and The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) for an ROH Six-Man Tag Team Title match that will air on AEW Rampage Grand Slam this coming Friday night.
