Booker T Names His Four Pillars Of AEW

Booker T has given his own four choices as the real pillars of AEW including former World Champion Jon Moxley.

At AEW Double or Nothing, the World Title match featured the champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) defending the championship against “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, Sammy Guevara & Darby Allin. The reason for the match is that they have been nicknamed the “four pillars” of AEW meaning they are guys that the company was built around.

In the case of all four guys, none of them were in a national wrestling promotion before AEW in 2019, so they have all grown up together in AEW over the last four years.

MJF won the match by pinning Allin to continue MJF’s seven-month reign as the World Champion.

Booker T is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer that talked about the four pillars of All Elite Wrestling on his Hall of Fame podcast.

“A pillar, for me, is the guy who’s building the foundation. That would be a guy like Jon Moxley.”

When co-host Brad Gilmore mentioned Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega as the real four pillars, Booker agreed with that. Booker would then go on to criticize other AEW wrestlers who were critical of the Four Pillars label.

“You don’t hear [those] guys saying [anything]. You know why? … It is a work. Come on, man. Wake up. Wise up. Wise up and quit giving the fans clickbait stuff like this. Wise up. Quit marking out over yourself. That’s what this thing’s about.”

Perhaps Booker was referencing AEW’s Ricky Starks, who stated publicly recently that he hated the idea of AEW having pillars. Booker concluded by saying the four pillars stuff really doesn’t mean anything.

“That [‘four pillars’] stuff, it doesn’t mean anything. It has zero weight, other than the perception that we’re trying to sell to … our fans.”

As for Booker T, he remains the analyst on WWE NXT every Tuesday night.
