Jacob Fatu’s vicious attack on WWE Raw prompted some interesting comments from the red brand’s General Manager.

Ever since he beat Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 42, Jacob Fatu has been a force on WWE Monday Night Raw. Fatu challenged Roman Reigns twice for the World Heavyweight Title, but failed to win both times.

Following his loss to Reigns in a Tribal Combat Match at Clash in Italy, Jacob Fatu acknowledged his cousin Reigns as his Tribal Chief on the June 1st episode of Raw.

Since then, Fatu has been a mercenary of sorts for Reigns, who has relaunched The Bloodline with The Usos and Fatu by his side. While Fatu has claimed he won’t be taking orders from The Usos, he has made it clear he’ll do what Reigns says.

On the June 15th episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Jacob Fatu was presented with a Ula Fala necklace of his own by Reigns. After they left the ring, actor Eric Andre greeted Reigns and The Usos at ringside. When Andre tried to be playful with Fatu, it proved to be a big mistake.

Fatu pulled Andre over the barricade and put Andre in the ring, where Fatu was hitting Andre with strikes. Fatu went to the top rope, but WWE Officials were there, and Reigns had to go on the apron to tell Fatu to calm down. After a few seconds, Reigns changed his mind, told Fatu to do it, and Fatu hit a Superfly Splash on Andre. Raw GM Adam Pearce was freaking out about it while Reigns was smiling.

After Fatu left the ring, Reigns told Fatu to do it one more time. Fatu went up top, and Fatu hit a Superfly Splash on Andre again. The fans cheered. Reigns said if you push them, then they are going to do that kind of thing to anybody who gets in their way.

Adam Pearce Reacts To Jacob Fatu’s Heinous Attack

Using an actor like Eric Andre in an angle like that is not that common in WWE, but it’s a way to show that Jacob Fatu is a loose cannon type of character, while Roman Reigns is obviously enjoying having control over his violent cousin.

When WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce appeared on the Dibs Podcast presented by Chicago History this week, he spoke out of character about Fatu’s attack on Andre. Pearce made the point that it’s about trust in talent like Fatu to take care of a non-wrestler like Andre in that situation.

“So he’s there, he’s in the front row, people are recognizing him but they’re not expecting Jacob Fatu to yank him over the guardrail and manhandle him and that is exactly what Jacob did. All kudos to Eric André.

Again, it goes back to the trust that I was talking about earlier. He put 100 percent of his trust into Jacob Fatu to not maim him and cripple him, but to make it look like that’s exactly what happened, and to kind of be in the periphery and as you said, screaming my head off. I’m always losing my mind on Mondays.”
