Big E Reveals Truth About Rumored Heat With Ex-WWE Champion
Big E has opened up about the supposed heat he has with a former champion in WWE.
Former WWE Champion Big E’s career came crashing to a halt in March 2022 when he suffered a broken neck in a tag team match on SmackDown. Big E received an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the floor from Ridge Holland, but did not get enough rotation and crashed down hard on the top of his head, causing a serious injury.
Big E has been open about the reality that his in-ring career is now at a premature end, but that doesn’t mean he has any problems with Ridge Holland.
Big E Holds No Grudges Towards Ridge Holland
Speaking recently on 107.7 The Bone, Big E explained how Holland tried to apologise after the tragic incident, but says there’s no ill will on his end towards the former NXT Tag Team Champion:
I talked to Ridge [Holland] right after it happened. He actually sent me like a 10 lbs box of meat as well as, you know. That’s how men say I am sorry. Here’s a box of meat.
So you know, thankfully, we had a conversation, and there was never any grudge held on my end. Things happen in our industry. Things happen, people get hurt. It wasn’t malicious. I told him you know, immediately, there was no hard feelings. I know, unfortunately, he has gotten a lot of flak online.
And I know he [Ridge Holland] has dealt with injuries of his own. He’s dealt also with losing his job. So you know, my heart in many ways goes out to him and I hope he is doing okay, and I hope he is recovering. But man, there was never a moment of ill will, at all from me. It’s the nature of what we do. You know, you signed up for something that is incredibly fun, incredibly rewarding, but also has very inherent dangers as well.
