Big E Gives Update On His Broken Neck

Big E

Former WWE Champion Big E has given the latest update on his condition as he attempts to battle back from a broken neck.

Big E has not competed in a WWE ring since the 11th of March 2022 edition of SmackDown when he and his New Day partner Kofi Kingston took on Sheamus and Ridge Holland in tag team action. During the match, Holland attempted to give Big E an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the outside of the ring. Unfortunately, the move went very wrong with the former WWE Champion landing directly on the top of his head.

The resulting injury was a broken neck with the star’s C1 vertebrate broken in two places. Speaking on These Urban Times, the New Day member gave the latest update on his status and says scans in March will provide a clearer picture:

“I have to get some more scans at the one-year mark in March and we’ll see how everything is looking. We’ll see from there. My C1 is broken in two spots, so we obviously have to be very smart about that. I was very fortunate. I want to make sure I’m making the best decision for myself. We’ll see in March.”

“I feel great, I’m really thankful for that. I don’t have any nerve issues, no strength issues, no impairment whatsoever. Obviously, to get back in the ring to do what we do, I want to make sure my C1 is rock solid. Other than that, I’m very blessed. I feel great.”

In his absence, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have found themselves with gold once again after the two men captured the NXT Tag Team Championship from Pretty Deadly.
