Becky Lynch Blasts WWE Legend For Spewing Inaccurate Info

Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch has called out a WWE veteran for being wrong about information shared on television.

The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship was on the line on the January 19th edition of Raw as Becky Lynch defended the gold against the former champion, Maxxine Dupri.

Late in the match, Dupri’s friend and mentor Natalya put Lynch’s foot on the bottom rope during a pin attempt to force a two count while shocking Dupri. Lynch would go on to capitalize on the assist from Natalya by hitting a Manhandle Slam to get the pinfall win.

That match took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, so it was on the same island where Lynch grew up in Ireland.

During the Raw broadcast, legendary WWE announcer Michael Cole made the claim that Dublin, Ireland, was 2 miles south of Belfast. Cole must have been fed incorrect info because the actual distance is about 84 miles.

Becky Lynch Wants Michael Cole Replaced

On social media, Becky Lynch blasted Cole for the mistake. Keep in mind that on social media, Lynch stays in her heel character and often writes in a way that infuriates people because that’s what her character does.

Can we talk about how BAD MICHAEL COLESLAW is?!? DUBLIN is NOT 2 MILES SOUTH OF BELFAST!!! Did he do ANY RESEARCH?!? Can we please replace him with someone like Sean Mooney?!? Now, THAT’S a REAL commentator!

The Sean Mooney reference was for a former WWE announcer from the 1980s and early 1990s, before Michael Cole joined the company in 1997.

Cole responded to Lynch on X with an apology.

You are correct BECKO, I messed up. However, I am MAN enough to admit when I make a mistake…unlike some people…

On the second season of WWE Unreal on Netflix, Becky Lynch is featured heavily and admits on the show that she felt bad about replacing Bayley at WrestleMania 41, but that’s what the storyline called for at the time.
