AJ Lee Calls On WWE To Bring Back Paige & Another Ex-Champion

AJ Lee recently looked back in time, wishing that WWE would bring back two champions from a decade ago.

Lee is scheduled to defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 42 against Becky Lynch.

It also marks her first bout at the Showcase of the Immortals since 2015, where she teamed up with Paige to defeat the Bella Twins in a tag match.

The Bellas, too, have been reunited in the Stamford promotion, leaving only Paige out of the picture. They will be featured in a fatal 4-way match for the Women’s Tag Team Championship, currently held by Nia Jax and Lash Legend.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated ahead of the Monday Night Raw’s taping in Houston, the 39-year-old wrestler hoped that WWE would bring back Paige as well as former Divas Champion Kaitlyn.

I love Paige… if I could bring somebody back, her and Kaitlyn. Let’s get them back.

After leaving WWE in 2022, Paige signed with AEW, competing under her legal name, Saraya. On the other hand, Kaitlyn walked away from the business in 2014 to focus on other ventures. She did later compete in the indies and made a brief return to WWE before retiring.

Becky Lynch Interrupts AJ Lee’s Interview On WWE Raw

AJ Lee’s title defense against Becky Lynch was confirmed a couple of weeks ago on Raw.

On April 6, a pre-taped interview of Lee with Michael Cole aired, where she was interrupted by Lynch.

Lynch said that she remembered their interaction during Lee’s last WrestleMania, after which she quit the company. She accused Lee of quitting, knowing that ‘The Man’ was on the rise.

In response, the Women’s IC Champion praised her challenger, claiming that she was proud of everything she had done to elevate the women’s division in her absence.

AJ Lee also reminded Lynch that the fans had not forgotten her. She then took a final dig at Lynch by telling her to ask her daughter who her favorite wrestler was.
