A former top champion in WWE has confirmed they have fully retired from the ring despite being just 39 years old.

Former WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn burst onto the scene in 2010 by winning NXT Season Three as a last-minute replacement.

She soon found herself fast-tracked to the main roster. She became a central figure in the Divas division through her volatile alliance and rivalry with AJ Lee. In 2013, Kaitlyn defeated Eve Torres to win the WWE Divas Championship, the high point of her WWE run. She lost the title 153 days later to AJ Lee at Payback.

Kaitlyn walked away from WWE in 2014, and despite a couple of brief returns, it seems she has no plans to make a full-time comeback.

Kaitlyn Confirms WWE Retirement

During a Q&A on social media, Kaitlyn confirmed to fans that wrestling is in her past:

You guys that know me from my wrestling career, you guys are so loyal, and I love it, and I appreciate you so much. I retired from WWE in 2014, so 12 years ago, I came back in 2018 for a Women’s tournament. And I’ve done like a few things here and there.

I still do signings, but pro wrestling was like a very significant part of my life and my journey and and really what helped shape a lot of my character and how I how I see myself, and how I perceive myself in terms of like, I can really do anything I apply myself to because that was it was an amazing but it was a very difficult and challenging career, especially at such a young age, and I’m grateful for it.

I got to travel the world, meet so many incredible, amazing people, and again, learn so many skills that helped me in my current life now, but I don’t really have a huge desire to go back to pro wrestling. It’s a very difficult and challenging lifestyle, but I love it.
