Mickie James Reacts To Nick Aldis Costing Gunther WWE SNME Match

Nick Aldis cost Gunther his match at WWE SNME.

The Ring General teamed up with Sami Zayn to face CM Punk and Cody Rhodes in a tag team match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18.

There was a special stipulation added to the match stating that if Gunther and Zayn defeated Punk and Rhodes, both of them would be added to the CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes match at SummerSlam for the Undisputed WWE Championship, making it a Fatal 4-Way Match.

In the closing moments of the bout, Gunther was about to pin Cody Rhodes, but Nick Aldis came out of nowhere and pulled the referee out of the ring before he could count to three. Aldis then grabbed the championship title and slammed it into Gunther’s head.

CM Punk capitalized on the opportunity by delivering a GTS to Gunther before dragging Cody Rhodes’ body on top of him for the cover. Aldis then helped another referee get inside the ring, who counted to three to give Punk and Cody the pinfall victory.

Mickie James On Nick Aldis’ Retaliation Against Gunther

Following Saturday Night’s Main Event, Aldis’ wife, Mickie James, took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to react to Aldis costing Gunther his WWE SNME match.

A fan on X highlighted that Gunther woke up a demon by attacking Aldis on SmackDown, and thus he’ll face dire consequences. The tweet caught Mickie’s attention, which prompted her to react.

Gunther and Nick Aldis are rumored to have a huge clash at SummerSlam next month. There has been tension between the two for quite some time, which reached a boiling point on SmackDown (July 10) when Gunther attacked Aldis in the middle of the ring.

After Aldis refused to give Gunther a World Championship shot, Gunther snapped and choked the SmackDown General Manager out with a sleeper hold.
