AEW Star Ricochet Issues Public Apology After Shocking Response To Fan
Ricochet has issued a public apology to a fan after writing a tone-deaf response to them for joking about his acting skills.
On March 15 at AEW Revolution, the 37-year-old lost his National Championship to “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry in a 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal match.
At present, he serves as the leader of The Demand, which includes the Gates of Agony duo Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona. He is also known for his stint in WWE between 2018 and 2024, during which he won the Intercontinental and the United States Championships.
Following his loss, he appeared livid, smashing a chair on the steel steps. He continued his antics during a backstage promo, where he was inconsolable, screaming at the top of his voice.
When the video was published on AEW’s social platform, a fan commented, “His acting hasn’t improved.” Ricochet obviously saw the comment because he replied, “I’m glad you got MS.”
The fan, who has multiple sclerosis, deleted their comment, something which the wrestler did too, almost a day later.
While it can be assumed that he was pretending to be in character when he wrote the response, the fans were none too happy about the insensitive nature of his tweet.
Ricochet Issues A Public Apology For Tone-Deaf Tweet
After being called out for mocking the fan’s health, Ricochet wrote another tweet defending himself.
On March 17, the leader of The Demand issued an apology, promising to be a better person going forward.
I took out my hatred for the IWC on Sandi, and inadvertently others who are effected by MS. She didnt deserve it and for that, I sincerely apologize.
Moving forward I’ll do better.
While there is merit in Ricochet’s claim that he and his wife, Samantha Irvin, receive constant abuse from the Internet Wrestling Community, it is no basis for mocking someone with a serious health condition.
It is currently unknown whether or not he was summoned by AEW higher-ups for his initial response to the fan.
