An AEW star that used to have a popular gimmick in WWE has teased a potential return.

When AEW launched in 2019, Shawn Spears was one of the men that appeared in a battle royal at their first PPV called Double or Nothing in May of that year. Spears would go on to have one of his biggest AEW matches ever at All Out 2019 when he lost to his good friend Cody (Rhodes).

During his AEW run over the last four years, Spears has been used sparingly. He was part of The Pinnacle group with MJF, Wardlow and FTR, but the group fizzled out.

In 2022, Spears didn’t wrestle much. In fact, he only had one match AEW match since June 2022. In January 2023, Spears and his wife Cassie Lee (former Peyton Royce in WWE) became parents for the first time to a baby boy named Austin.

Prior to his days of being All Elite, Spears was known as “The Perfect Ten” Tye Dillinger from 2013 untile he was granted a release in early 2019. The gimmick was created in NXT, then he carried it with him to the main roster and wasn’t much much while there.

On Twitter, Spears reacted to his WWE Royal Rumble debut in 2017 when he entered the match at #10 (shocking huh?) and received a huge ovation. Spears did a quote tweet that has led people to think maybe he is teasing a WWE return.
