Advertised SmackDown Match Pulled By WWE

There were multiple changes to WWE SmackDown including a match that was pulled and another one that was changed.

When it comes to the current “Triple H Era” of WWE, one of the things that people have praised is that there is a lot more organization when it comes to producing weekly television shows like Raw and Smackdown.

For decades with Vince McMahon in charge, there were many stories about shows being re-written and a lot of chaos backstage. It was something that drew a lot of complaints from people who worked in WWE.

Going into WWE Smackdown in Louisville, one of the advertised matches was going to be between former Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews and Angel of Legado Del Fantasma. During the show, Crews was interviewed backstage and then he was attacked immediately by Angel as well as the rest of the Legado group.

Moments later, Smackdown GM Nick Aldis was approached by LA Knight, who was looking for Logan Paul. This led to an interruption from Carmelo Hayes and Aldis used that discussion to put Knight-Hayes in a match. It was WWE’s way of replacing one match that was advertised with another match that was set up backstage.

The LA Knight-Carmelo Hayes match saw Knight pick up the win by countering Melo’s attempt to pin while holding the tights. Knight reversed the pin into one of his own and sat on top of Melo for the victory.

WWE Also Changes Women’s Match On Smackdown

Another match that was scheduled for Smackdown was between Women’s Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill and Indi Hartwell. That was changed when Indi and Candice LeRae complained to GM Aldis in a backstage segment, so Aldis put them in a tag team match against Cargill and Belair.

That tag team match saw Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair defeat LeRae & Hartwell with an impressive double-team move that included a double DDT and ended with a German Suplex.

It’s unknown at this time as to why WWE made the changes to the two matches.

Next week’s WWE Smackdown event on June 14th takes place in Glasgow, Scotland just one day before the Clash at the Castle PLE takes place.
