Adam Copeland Helping “Fill The Gap” In AEW Left By CM Punk

Adam Copeland is going to have a “significant presence” in AEW.

Adam Copeland made his shocking debut for AEW at the end of WrestleDream in Seattle as he came face-to-face with his old friend and tag team partner Christian Cage.

Cage retained his TNT Title in the night’s main event after Nick Wayne betrayed Darby Allin to help Cage win. Sting came to Allin’s aid as the attack continued but Luchasaurus made his presence felt to help take out The Icon. Before Cage could end Sting with a wicked con-chair-to, familiar music hit and Adam Copeland came to the ring to a rapturous reception.

Copeland took the chair from Cage before turning it on Luchasaurus and Waybe as Cage slithered away to live to fight another day.

Adam Copeland gets “unanimously positive receptions” in AEW

Fightful Select has reported following Copeland’s debut that the star has expressed his openness to helping the company in a number of capacities and not just as an in-ring talent.

A “longtime AEW talent” is noted to have spoken about Copeland plugging the gap left by CM Punk following his firing and that Copeland won’t cause any of the issues that followed Punk around. Prior to being let go by AEW, Punk was believed to be helping with the creative for Collision and certainly had a say on who could and could not be at the shows.
