AEW News: Kenny Omega Introduced as Executive Vice President, Omega vs. Chris Jericho Likely for “Double or Nothing” on May 25, More Info

All Elite Wrestling, the new wrestling promotion led by Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) that is owned by Shahid and Tony Khan, had a ticket party in Las Vegas earlier tonight. They were there to set up some of the big matches for their debut event called “Double or Nothing” in Las Vegas on May 25th.

The big news from the event is that the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega has officially signed with the company. Omega was a free agent after his New Japan Pro Wrestling contract expired last week and he noted at the AEW ticket event that he signed the deal this morning. Omega specifically said that he is now a full-time member of the AEW roster. Most likely, he had already verbally agreed to join the company because has been close friends with the Young Bucks for many years and a close friend of Cody Rhodes as well.

When Omega appeared, a graphic said that he is an Executive Vice President of AEW, which is the same job title that is held by Cody, Matt and Nick. That means the four of them are not only in-ring performers, but they are running the company together along with the Khan Family.

During Omega’s speech, he was predictably interrupted by the great Chris Jericho, which led to a physical confrontation where they had to be pulled apart. That set them up for a match at Double or Nothing at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 25th.

They also announced that you sign up for pre-sale codes for Double or Nothing at AllEliteWrestling.com right here. Presale codes will be sent on February 11 starting at 9AM PST/12pm EST. Presale will begin on February 11 at 12pm PST/3pm EST.

  • Adam Page vs. Pac (formerly Neville in WWE)
  • The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) vs. Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix
  • SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) vs. CIMA and two partners of his choosing.
