WWE News: Renee Young Tests Positive for COVID-19, Update on Her Health

TJR Wrestling

Yesterday we reported that multiple WWE employees have tested positive for Covid-19. Late last night on Twitter, Renee Young announced that she is one of those employees. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Young found out she was positive this past Monday. Young took the test last week after being exposed to the virus, but it took multiple days for the results and symptoms to emerge. Young is reportedly now showing several symptoms, including losing her sense of taste and smell. Young is apparently doing better now and the hope is that the worst is over.

You can see Renee’s tweet below.

The show being canceled is a reference to Fox choosing to stop producing the WWE Backstage show that Young hosted on Tuesday nights on FS1. When not working on Backstage, Young appeared on Smackdown as well.

Young’s husband AEW World Champion Jon Moxley missed last night’s AEW Dynamite show, choosing to stay by his wife’s side at this time. Moxley was tested for COVID-19, with the results being negative. Despite this, Moxley reportedly still believes there is a possibility that he may have the virus, and that it is just taking time for a positive result to appear.

Moxley is scheduled to defend the AEW Heavyweight Championship against Brian Cage on July 8th, with that match now clearly being in jeopardy.
