TJR Wrestling

The biggest Royal Rumble match ever is set to take place this year, but it won’t be on American soil. It’s going to take place in Saudi Arabia. It was announced today that WWE will do a 50-Man Royal Rumble match in Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 27th at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which is an outdoor venue that opened in 2014 and holds over 62,000 people.

According to PWInsider, Triple H flew to Saudi Arabia this past week to finalize the deal. It is not known yet if the show and the match will be broadcast on WWE Network or some other platform. There also hasn’t been an announcement in terms of a prize for the winner of the match.

I’ve included the press release below. As you can see, it will feature Raw and Smackdown talent. Vince McMahon calls it “a spectacle of historic proportions.” It sure sounds like a nice treat for the fans in Saudi Arabia.
