NXT 2.0 Reportedly To Be Part Of WWE Draft

According to a new report, NXT will be involved in the upcoming WWE Draft set to take place in the first week of October.

NXT has recently undergone a complete makeover into a bright and colourful NXT 2.0, with newcomers such as Bron Breakker and Von Wagner joining the roster. Tommaso Ciampa, a former black and gold brand stalwart, recently reclaimed the NXT Championship from Samoa Joe. However, it appears that the brand’s roster may not be the same as it will be in a few weeks.

Andrew Zarian, who first broke the news of the WWE Draft plans and dates, has taken to social media to speculate on NXT’s involvement in the Draft.

“Hearing that we [sic] NXT will be involved in the draft. Expect a few call ups #NXT#WWE#WWEDRAFT”

The dates for the upcoming WWE Draft have been announced, as RAW and SmackDown prepare to shuffle their decks. The WWE Draft will be held this year on October 1st and 4th, with the company confirming the dates on Monday Night RAW.

The event begins on SmackDown on October 1st and concludes three days later on the following episode of RAW. Zarian had reported that the draft would be rescheduled for these dates after being postponed from September.

The WWE Draft will be held in October for the third year in a row, with last year’s event taking place on the 9th and 12th of October. During that year’s draft, The New Day split, with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods going to RAW and Big E staying on SmackDown. However, the team has temporarily reunited on RAW. The question is whether it will remain that way.

The draft began after the first brand split in 2002, when Vince McMahon took control of SmackDown, leaving Ric Flair in charge of the company’s flagship show. McMahon’s first draft choice in WWE history was The Rock for the blue brand, much to the chagrin of The Undertaker, who was then drafted to RAW by his then-hated rival, Ric Flair.
