Zelina Vega was released by WWE on April 24, 2026, alongside several other top names, including her real-life husband, Aleister Black, and others. Her release was part of a massive round of roster cuts following WrestleMania 42.

Following her departure from the Stamford-based company, a video went viral online claiming to show Vega criticizing WWE for wasting her potential and releasing her out of the blue. The clip gained significant traction on social media.

However, the video is fake. Zelina Vega took to Twitter to inform fans that the video circulating on YouTube, which appears to show her criticizing TKO Group Holdings and WWE, is AI-generated. She stated that she has reported the video and urged fans not to fall for it.

She tweeted, “There’s a weird AI video of me going around talking about my release. Don’t fall for this crap please. I appreciate the support in the comments of course ily guys so much but I didn’t say any of this. I tried reporting it but it didn’t work. But if you come across this video, IT IS FAKE:”

Zelina Vega On Her WWE Release

Shortly after her release, Zelina Vega went live on Twitch, where she revealed that she learned about her release directly from TKO rather than WWE. She also expressed frustration at journalists who leaked the news of her WWE release before she had the chance to share it with her fans.

When people call me from there, usually it would say Stamford calling you. That’s when your heart is like, ‘Oh, f**k.’ But this time it said TKO, which sounds like, ‘Ah, very telling.’ 5:09 pm is when I found out.

I was so shocked. But yeah, I also would have appreciated if Sean Ross Sapp or whoever the f**k announced it could have at least given me the decency to like let me do it myself first. But f**k you, dude.
