WWE Legend The Rock Makes Shocking Personal Confession: “I’m Not The A**hole”
The Rock says people think he’s an a**hole just because he constantly wears sunglasses.
The People’s Champion is often seen wearing sunglasses as part of his on-screen WWE character and even in the outside world. They have become part of his signature style.
In a new interview with Rotten Tomato Trailers, The Rock said that many people make fun of him or consider him strange for constantly wearing sunglasses. However, he explained that there is a reason behind it.
The Rock Says His Sunglasses Serve A Practical Purpose
The Rock revealed that his sunglasses are actually prescription glasses with tinted lenses. He cannot see without his glasses, so he has to wear them regularly to see what’s around him. That is why people find him wearing sunglasses everywhere.
Earlier, he used to wear regular glasses; then he got them tinted. So now they look like a fashion accessory, but they actually serve a real-life practical purpose for him.
“By the way, for context, these are prescription glasses. (takes them off) Now I can’t see anything. So they were prescription on set. I’m not the a**hole who wears (sun)glasses inside. No, they’re scripts.
By the way, every time we would read our lines, I would say, give me my glasses, and I’d put them on. Now, they happen to have some tint to them, so it makes me look like, ‘oh, look at this fu*kin’ guy.’” H/T Fightful
The Rock was at the interview with his co-star Catherine Laga’aia to promote his upcoming live-action adaptation of Moana, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 10, 2026.
The Hollywood star has been pushing out blockbuster movies like The Smashing Machine, Moana, and more one after another. While his fans have been seeing him on the big screen regularly, he has been missing from WWE for quite a while now.
He was last seen at Elimination Chamber 2025. His next WWE appearance is rumored to be at WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.
