Naraku Unleashes Brutal Assault On WWE Champion After Great American Bash

Tony D’Angelo put in a massive performance at the WWE NXT Great American Bash this past weekend, where the NXT Champion wrestled his match with just one eye.

D’Angelo was scheduled to defend his NXT Championship against Naraku, but before the match, the Japanese star had hit him with a fireball to his face a week prior, leading to D’Angelo being severely injured.

He came to the Great American Bash with his face heavily bandaged and his right eye completely covered with bandages, leaving him with only one eye in working condition for the match.

Despite the massive injuries, D’Angelo worked through his adrenaline and put on a dominant display to defeat Naraku and retain his NXT Championship at the show this past weekend.

The NXT Champion came out to tonight’s show and spoke about his match against Naraku and what it took for him to even compete in the match, let alone walk out victorious. Tony then put the entire WWE NXT locker room on notice before heading backstage.

However, it seems like the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion isn’t done with Tony just yet, as he hit him with the Poison Mist to his face. He then continued to assault D’Angelo as Kendal Grey made her entrance. He took Tony out with a steel chair to the back before hitting him with the Everything is Evil on the steel chair.
