Coming off his first loss on Raw, Ilja Dragunov has sent a warning to the WWE roster.

On the May 13th edition of Raw, Dragunov took on Jey Uso in the King of the Ring Quarterfinals. with Gunther having defeated Kofi Kingston earlier in the night to advance to the next stage, Dragunov had his sights firmly set on a rematch against The Ring General.

However, it wasn’t to be, as Uso was able to withstand The Mad Dragon’s lightning offence and catch him with a Spear followed by an Uso Splash for the victory and a spot in the King of the Ring Semifinals. The loss marked Dragunov’s first defeat as a member of the Raw roster.

Speaking in a WWE Digital Exclusive after the show, Dragunov admitted the loss was frustrating, but claimed there was no shame in losing to ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso.

“I mean, what should I say? It’s so frustrating? It is, but, where actually is the shame to lose to the man called ‘The Main Event’, right?

“All I know now is I’m tired, I’m in pain but the beauty of it is that I’m already very dangerous in this ring, but, when I’m in pain, I’m an entire monster.”

When asked who would win between Uso and Gunther, Dragunov proclaimed that his only prediction was that “no-one is safe anymore.”

“Predictions? I mean, they’re both like the absolute bar.

“The only prediction I can make is for myself and this prediction is no-one is safe anymore. To quote Shawn Michaels, what he said ‘I’m what the kids call a real problem.’”

Gunther Claims Ilja Dragunov Brings Out His Best

In an interview before the WWE Draft, Gunther admitted he wanted Ilja Dragunov to move to Raw. The longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion praised Dragunov as a star who was “waiting to explode” and admitted he brings out the best in him in the ring.

However, while The Ring General is hopeful of a rematch against the man who ended his record NXT UK Title reign, he believes Dragunov has his own path to follow before it happens.
