WWE SmackDown Turns Bloody As Former United States Champion Is Busted Open
WWE SmackDown was off to an intense start tonight as Cody Rhodes kicked off the show ahead of his Elimination Chamber match next weekend, before being interrupted by Jacob Fatu.
Fatu and Rhodes got into a heated discussion with Drew McIntyre before Fatu caused a bit of chaos and had to be calmed down by the SmackDown General Manager.
The night then progressed with the first match of the night, as former United States champion, Ilja Dragunov took on Tama Tonga of the MFT after the group interrupted his proposed United States Championship match.
Ilja Dragunov busted open on WWE SmackDown
Both men began the match with some hard-hitting strikes as they both looked to dominate the match early on. Momentum kept rotating between them quite quickly in the opening few minutes of the match.
Their brutal match turned bloody after a bit as the two men collided in a double clothesline spot which hit Dragunov on the nose unpleasently, causing the former WWE US champion to start bleeding from his nose.
Tama ultimately proved to be the victor on the night thanks to some help from his brother, Tonga Loa. He distracted Dragunov long enough for Tama to hit him with the Cutthroat and earn the win.
