Cody Rhodes Kicks Off WWE SmackDown Amid Rising Tensions
With only a little over a week remaining in WWE Elimination Chamber, tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was kicked off by former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
The American Nightmare qualified for the Elimination Chamber match in last week’s main event after he defeated Jacob Fatu and Sami Zayn, despite Drew McIntyre’s best efforts to cost Rhodes once again.
He opened tonight’s show at the Amerant Bank Arena in Fort Lauderdale as he looked address his upcoming match at next weekend’s Premium Live Event, but was interrupted by Jacob Fatu.

The Samoan Wearwolf came out asked for Drew McIntyre to come out to the ring as he needed answers from the champion after he took Fatu out of the triple threat match last week.
Nick Aldis came out instead and stated that he had given Drew the night off but he emerged from the balcony seat in the arena and mocked Fatu. The former Bloodline member took out security as Jacob tried to make his way to the champion.

Aldis got Fatu to calm down and he walked backstage before Cody and Drew exchanged a few words amongst them as their months-long rivalry continued on tonight.
