WWE SmackDown: Triple H May Have Subtly Confirmed Alliance With Pat McAfee
Triple H may be behind Pat McAfee’s heel turn, as a massive hint was seemingly dropped on WWE SmackDown.
For a few weeks, Randy Orton spoke to a mystery caller on the phone following his heel turn on Cody Rhodes ahead of their Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania.
Last week on SmackDown, the mystery caller was revealed to be Pat McAfee. The former color commentator jumped in the ring and attacked The American Nightmare to confirm his alliance with The Viper heading into this year’s Show of Shows.
Nick Aldis Receives Strict Orders Regarding Pat McAfee On WWE SmackDown
Tonight on the blue brand, Cody Rhodes confronted General Manager Nick Aldis in the parking lot, asking about the whereabouts of Pat McAfee.
Aldis informed Rhodes that McAfee was still on his way to the arena. However, he was under strict orders that The American Nightmare must not lay his hands on the former NFL star under any circumstances.
When Rhodes asked who Aldis was taking orders from, the SmackDown General Manager refused to name anyone, stating that the instructions came from “above me.”
Interestingly, the camera panned to reveal Triple H’s face on the production truck behind Aldis, possibly hinting that the Chief Content Officer is backing McAfee. That comes after The Game’s wife, Stephanie McMahon, had a heated confrontation with Cody Rhodes on RAW, warning him that he cannot beat the current version of Randy Orton.
