Jacy Jayne Picks Up First Win On WWE SmackDown; Defeats Former Women’s Champion
WWE SmackDown was treated to the main roster debut of Fatal Influence last week when they interrupted the Women’s Tag Team match between Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss and the champions Brie Bella and Paige.
The group wreaked havoc on the show and attacked all four women before later doing the same thing to the WWE Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley. They were set to be featured on tonight’s show as well.
Following their attack last week, Jacy Jayne, the leader of Fatal Influence, was scheduled to face off against Charlotte Flair in the opening match of the night.
Rhea Ripley shares a moment with a former WWE rival
Before their match, Rhea Ripley offered to help Charlotte by coming out to her side to negate Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, but Flair politely declined. Flair and Jayne wrestled an extremely entertaining bout, which went back and forth a lot.
Jayne seemed to be in control of the match at times, but Flair came back every time and almost had the match won after trapping her in the Figure Eight Lock. However, Fallon Heley pulled her arms down, breaking the move.
This allowed Jacy Jayne to take advantage of the chaos that was caused by Lainey and Fallon’s attack on Alexa, and she knocked Charlotte out with her Discuss Elbow Strike to get the win.
The three women attacked the former Women’s Tag Team Champions after the match before Rhea Ripley came out to their aid, leading to a moment of respect between Ripley and former rival Charlotte Flair as the two shook hands after sending Fatal Influence packing.
