WWE SmackDown To Feature Tag Team Debut

WWE SmackDown logo over Pretty Deadly Brawling Brutes

The tag team division on WWE Smackdown will be gaining a new tag team that is set to make its debut.

Since Roman Reigns lost the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40, Solo Sikoa has taken over as the “Tribal Chief” of The Bloodline group over the last two months. Under Solo’s leadership, The Bloodline has become stronger thanks to the additions of brothers Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa.

The duo of Tonga & Loa are brothers, the sons of WWE legend Haku, who have a lot of history teaming together outside of WWE as well.

During the May 31st edition of WWE SmackDown in Albany, it was reported by Wrestlevotes on Twitter/X that the brother tag team is expected to be in action on Smackdown.

“As of this morning, tonight’s SmackDown will feature the team debut of the ex-‘Guerrillas of Destiny.’

“Tonga Loa & Tama Tonga will take on The Street Profits.”

It’s unknown if Tonga & Loa will use the Guerillas of Destiny name that they used while in New Japan Pro Wrestling. As a tag team, Tonga & Loa won New Japan’s IWGP Tag Team Titles seven times.

The match has been confirmed my WWE on social media as Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa team up against The Street Profits.

WWE Smackdown Follows King And Queen Of The Ring

This week’s WWE Smackdown event in Albany will be the follow-up to the King and Queen of the Ring PLE.

The WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE was a good night for some Smackdown stars including Cody Rhodes, who defeated Logan Paul in the main event to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. There was also a big win for Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill retaining the WWE Women’s Tag Team TItles over Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell in a match on the Countdown show.

Randy Orton from SmackDown was in the King of the Ring Finals against GUNTHER. While the match ended in controversy since Orton’s shoulders weren’t down for a three count, WWE’s CCO Triple H says that the referee’s decision is final. However, Triple H did say that Orton would get a rematch with GUNTHER in the future.

Perhaps the biggest win on the whole show was by the blue brand’s Nia Jax, who defeated Lyra Valkyria to win the Queen of the Ring tournament.
