WWE Pulls Drew McIntyre From Live Events

Drew McIntyre

Over the weekend, a few shockwaves were sent across the wrestling world, this because of fans’ curiosity on why Drew McIntyre wasn’t at live events. WWE decided to pull the “Scottish Warrior” from their house shows, however, McIntyre fans can relax.

According to multiple reports, WWE decided to pull McIntyre from this weekend’s events because of a bad case of food poisoning.

The word is that McIntyre got very ill before last Friday’s SmackDown, but would tough his way through the show. McIntyre’s poisoning was so bad that WWE even had to give him an IV treatment so he could get through the episode.

After his appearance on WWE TV, the company then made the decision to pull McIntyre from the road so he could get some rest and recover.

Replacing McIntyre was Braun Strowman, who ended up being a treat to fans due to the live appearances being his first since returning to WWE.

Drew McIntyre’s last actual match was last week at the Sunday Stunner house show in Oakland, California. There, McIntyre would team up with The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) to take on The Bloodline, which consisted of Sami Zayn and The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso). McIntyre and The New Day would win the match.

The “Scottish Warrior” is still set to take on Karrion Kross at WWE’s Extreme Rules premium live event in Philadelphia on October 8th. The contest between the two is a strap match, where in order to win, the competitor must go around the ring and touch all four turnbuckles while strapped to their opponent.
