WWE Producer Signs New Deal
A former wrestler who now works for WWE as a Producer will be sticking around for many more years.
The role of a Producer in pro wrestling is to assist the talent in performing their match or segment on television or at a live event.
Oftentimes, Producers are former wrestlers who spent years in the ring and end up as Producers because it’s like a former athlete becoming an assistant coach in the sport they played in.
Some of the notable main roster WWE Producers were well-known wrestlers like Michael Hayes, Tyson Kidd, Bobby Roode, Shane Helms (“The Hurricane”), Shawn Daivari, Kenny Dykstra, Jason Jordan, Molly Holly and even former TNA guys like Petey Williams and Joseph Park aka Abyss.
On the WWE NXT brand, it’s similar with the Producers, but a lot of them are coaches as well. That means a lot of the coaches are working with the talent five or more days a week at the Performance Center, on NXT TV, and at live events.
Steve Corino Staying With WWE As A Producer And Coach
It has been reported by Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net that former ECW, NWA & MLW World Champion Steve Corino has re-signed with the WWE NXT brand on a multi-year deal. According to the report by Haynes, Corino will continue his role as a Tag Team Coach at the WWE Performance Center and Producer for NXT. Corino mainly works with tag teams on the NXT brand.
In addition to that, Haynes reports that Corino is interested in getting some NXT Talents to come in and work some potential PWF (Premier Wrestling Federation) shows since Corino is a part owner of the company.
Steve Corino’s son Colby Corino is a successful independent wrestler who has been linked to WWE in the past but has yet to officially sign with the company.
