WWE Plans To Elevate Female Star With Expanded Role Post-NXT Return

If things go as planned, a female superstar may see themselves taking on a more prominent role in NXT.

Jaida Parker made her surprise return on WWE’s developmental brand during the January 13 taping. In doing so, she interrupted an ongoing segment that featured Blake Monroe cutting a promo.

At New Year’s Evil, Monroe was evicted from the building after she launched a vicious attack on the then-NXT Women’s North American Champion, Thea Hail.

The attack led to Hail sustaining a rib injury, which would become a factor later in the evening during her title match against Izzi Dame.

Dame frequently targeted her ribs on her way to winning the championship for the first time.

As for Jaida Parker, the 26-year-old had not been on TV since October 7, when she competed in a #1 Contendership Battle Royal match for the WWE NXT Women’s Title.

Jaida Parker’s Return To Help WWE Rebuild NXT Roster

While speaking on Fightful’s The Hump podcast, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that her absence was due to an injury and now that she was back, the higher-ups were keen on presenting her in an integral role.

From what I understand, she was hurt. However, they are clearly working something out involving her and Blake Monroe. She is expected to be a very important part of NXT over the next year.

NXT needs to rebuild its roster, and getting Jaida back is a big boost for them. The brand has consistently done a strong job developing women’s wrestling talent, and this situation is no different. From what I was told, she will play an integral role on the show moving forward and be a key factor in NXT’s plans. [H/T: Ringside News]
