WWE Planning Quick Return To Saudi Arabia

WWE Saudi Arabia Stadium

WWE will return to Saudi Arabia very shortly.

Over the past year, WWE has begun hosting more events overseas, with Elimination Chamber taking place in Australia, and Money In The Bank in the UK. This trend will continue in 2024 with Backlash being scheduled to take place in France, and Germany hosting Bash In Berlin in August.

Before this recent move to presenting more Premium Live Events in international markets, one country that dominated the PLE schedule outside of North America was the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

WWE has had a lucrative partnership with the Kingdom for several years now and is in the midst of a ten-year deal with Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Entertainment to produce annual stadium shows until 2027.

The last time the promotion hit the Kingdom was on November 4th for Crown Jewel 2023. While several major stars missed Crown Jewel, the Saudi crowd witnessed a blockbuster main event that saw Roman Reigns defeat LA Knight to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Title and Rhea Ripley overcome four other women to keep hold of the Women’s World Championship.

When Will WWE Return To Saudi Arabia?

PWInsider has reported that it won’t be long until WWE returns to the Kingdom, with the company seemingly look at late May. This would be a year after the last spring event, Night Of Champions, which took place on May 27th, 2023.

It should also be noted that there is a space in the company’s event listings where SmackDown would usually be on Friday, May 24th. This could indicate the Saudi show will take place on the 25th, as the go-home shows for events in the country are usually filmed in advance to allow for travel time.

If this is the date for the event, it will be a busy weekend for the company as NXT Battleground will be held on May 26th in Savannah, Georgia.
