WWE News: Matt Riddle Loses First Name, Will Just Be “Riddle” Now, Riddle Comments Saying It’s Okay…Bro
The name Matt Riddle is not going to be a ring name anymore. Instead, WWE will just be calling the Raw superstar Riddle. As you can see in the photo above, the WWE.com profile page for Riddle has been changed. If you read the bio on that page, they have removed “Matt” from his name. It was reported by PWInsider that the decision was made earlier today.
Riddle commented on it saying it was fine while also being happy that he gets to use his real name. That’s a luxury that a lot of wrestlers don’t have.
People it’s okay I’ve been called Riddle most my life, I actually prefer it and it’s my real last name 🤙 #bro#stallion#RIDDLE

Some other name shortening “victims” include:
(Antonio) Cesaro
(Alexander) Rusev – Now in AEW as Miro.
Big E (Langston)
(Adrian) Neville – He’s now in AEW as Pac.
Elias (Samson)
(Luke) Harper – Now in AEW as Brodie Lee.
Andrade (Cien Almas)
Tucker (Knight)
Otis (Dozovic)
(Buddy) Murphy
There are many more as well.
TJR Thoughts: This kind of thing never really bothers me, but I also think it’s unnecessary as well. I don’t think having a four letter, common first name like Matt is going to hurt the guy’s career at all, but WWE must really like single name superstars.
