Beloved WWE Name Provides Health Update After Scary Car Accident
WWE referee Daphanie LaShaunn was recently involved in a scary car accident.
On Sunday, January 18, 2026, LaShaunn and her husband, former NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff, had a serious car accident where the couple’s vehicle was rear-ended while on the road.
Leon Ruff shared photos on social media showing that their car was completely totaled, with severe damage to both the front and rear ends. Both Ruff and LaShaunn were taken to the hospital for medical evaluation. Ruff reported that while he was fine. But his wife was “hurting more” and was significantly sore and shaken up.
He shared, “Earlier today, my wife and I were rear-ended on the road. We just got home from the hospital and we’re both sore and shaken up. I’m alright, but Aja is hurting more than I am. Unfortunately, the car is totaled.”
“If anyone has any connections to bookers or upcoming shows, I’d truly appreciate the opportunity to pick up some extra bookings. Please drive safe and always wear your seatbelt.”

A week after the accident, LaShaunn has broken her silence to address her current health status. Taking to her Instagram account, she thanked all her friends and well-wishers for their immense love and support.
He added that she’ll be away from WWE as she needs some more days to recover and heal properly, but promised to return to action soon. She capped off the message by emphasizing the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
