WWE Trying To Lock In Major Star To Long-Term Deal

Seth Rollins Sami Zayn Cody Rhodes WWE

WWE is looking to lock down Cody Rhodes for the next several years and his new deal is believed to be a priority for the entire TKO Group.

Fightful Select has reported that WWE sources have confirmed that the company is engaged in talks with Cody Rhodes over a multi-year contract extension.

While the exact terms have not been revealed it is believed WWE is trying to lock Rhodes in long-term and that he can expect a sizable raise to sign a new deal. The extension of Rhodes’ contract is believed to be a priority for TKO and there is confidence a deal will be done at some point.

There had been suggestions that a new deal had already been signed when Rhodes got a new travel bus in November but it is apparently not yet finalised.

When did Cody Rhodes Return To WWE?

Cody Rhodes stunned the world when he announced his AEW departure in February 2022. Rhodes returned to WWE just weeks later at WrestleMania 38 as the surprise opponent for Seth Rollins.

Since then Rhodes has suffered an injury that kept him out of action for several months before he returned to win the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble. Rhodes was unable to ‘finish his story’ at WrestleMania 39 as Roman Reigns retained the WWE Universal Championship but The American Nightmare is one of the favourites to win the Rumble match and get a second bite at Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
