This WWE legend had to agree with the criticisms leveled at WrestleMania 42 when he recently gave his own take on the show.

WWE legend Matt Hardy is no stranger to WrestleMania. The Hardy Boy has performed at 11 WrestleMania events in his career, many alongside his brother Jeff as the exciting tag team The Hardy Boyz, and one major match against him at WrestleMania 25.

The Hardy Boyz winning the Raw Tag Team Championship in a surprise return at WrestleMania 33, and the iconic TLC match at WrestleMania X-Seven are among the highlights of his WrestleMania performances.

WWE has been criticised in recent times for a product that has too many ads and too few wrestling matches and storylines. This year’s Mania event was criticised by many for not having any video promo packages that play before a major match to recap the feuds between the wrestlers and the build-up to the bout. There was also noticeably less in-ring action as compared to advertisements on both nights.

Matt Hardy has now weighed in on the criticism with his opinions.

WWE Legend Matt Hardy Thought WrestleMania 42 Felt Pr*stituted

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on the Ariel Helwani show, Hardy weighed in on some of the criticisms the WWE product and especially WrestleMania has been getting in recent times by saying that he felt the show was pr*stituted with multiple ads during the show.

It is definitely so evolved and so different from what the initial concept of WrestleMania was.

It felt very prostituted because of all of the ads and everything else.

Hardy went on to say that when you go to pay-per-views (now called PLEs or Premium Live Events) like WrestleMania, the feuds between wrestlers need to have a good payoff, which is only possible if the wrestlers are allowed enough time in the ring to tell the story.

I also feel, when you go to these pay-per-views like WrestleMania, if you have these big matches between big stars, these matches need to be good and need to have time and need to have a good payoff. That’s what you’re building to.

Hardy is currently signed with TNA.
