Stephanie McMahon On Ex-WWE Champion: “He Didn’t Do Sh*t”
Stephanie McMahon recently spoke out about this former WWE Champion.
Stephanie McMahon has played a heel character in WWE for most of her career. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class alongside legends such as the late Sycho Sid and the recently retired AJ Styles.
Stephanie also appeared on WWE TV recently to confront Cody Rhodes and warn him about the version of Randy Orton he would face at WrestleMania 42. McMahon has long had a history of playing the heel in storylines to help put over other wrestlers.
In 2013, Stephanie, alongside Triple H, portrayed the corporate Authority that would hold a wrestler down so that he could rebel against them and get his comeuppance. The wrestler who benefited most from this storyline was former WWE star Daniel Bryan, who was a hit with fans. Bryan played the ultimate underdog and kept defying the authority, gaining massive fan support with his “YES” movement.
During an episode of her podcast, What’s Your Story?, McMahon talks about how Bryan no-sold her slaps.
Stephanie McMahon Says Daniel Bryan Wouldn’t Sell Her Slaps
In a recent episode of her podcast, in which recently returned WWE star Paige was the guest, Stephanie McMahon talked about how Daniel Bryan wouldn’t sell slaps that she would hit him with.
Wrestle Purtists shared the clip on their X account:
“Daniel Bryan wouldn’t sell my slaps… I was trying everything I could, and he didn’t do sh*t.” – Stephanie McMahon (What’s Your Story?)
Yeah, Daniel Bryan wouldn’t sell my slaps either. And I slap him with the right, and I’d start slapping him (laughter). I just tried everything I could, and he didn’t do sh*t.
