Top AEW stars are approaching the final year of their contracts.

It is currently unclear whether the stars in question have decided to re-sign with All Elite Wrestling. Amid the uncertainty surrounding their future, WWE has reportedly expressed interest in bringing them back. The stars in question are Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR.

FTR recently dropped the AEW World Tag Team Championship to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage in a brutal I Quit Match at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on May 24, 2026.

FTR’s Current AEW Deal Set To Run Till 2027 With An Optional Extension Year

Following the event, Bodyslam.net released a report stating that FTR, who signed a four-year contract with All Elite Wrestling back in the spring of 2023, is now approaching the final option year of that agreement.

The report further stated that sources close to the situation have indicated that FTR believes their consistently high-level performances have earned them the right to be compensated among AEW’s top-tier financial acts.

It was also highlighted that WWE higher-ups have internally expressed preliminary interest in bringing FTR back to WWE.

FTR became All Elite in 2020 and made their in-ring debut on the June 10 episode of Dynamite, where they defeated The Butcher and The Blade. Over the past six years, they have won the AEW World Tag Team Championship three times.

Before that, FTR was part of WWE from 2014 to 2020 under the names Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder as The Revival. During their time in the company, they won the NXT Tag Team Championship twice, the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship twice, and the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship once.

According to reports, Dash and Cash left WWE because they were unhappy with how the company treated tag team wrestling on the main roster.
