WWE Hall Of Famer Reveals How Much Money Can Be Made On Legends Deal
A legendary WWE Hall of Fame tag team wrestler has given some insight into the kind of money he makes on a Legends Deal.
D-Von Dudley is one half of the legendary Dudley Boyz tag team with Bubba Ray Dudley. Together, they had a legendary career as one of the best WWE tag teams of all time, also achieving considerable success in other promotions, including ECW, Japan, and TNA, where they were also inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The days of the Dudleys being full-time wrestlers are behind them, but they remain busy. D-Von has worked as a WWE Producer for many years before leaving a few years ago, and Bubba Ray is a successful co-host on Busted Open Radio. They also appear at various conventions to meet wrestling fans and take photos with them, just like many former wrestlers.
Many former wrestlers who are in good standing with WWE also sign Legends Deals with the company. Wrestling fans are familiar with the deals, but most wrestlers who sign them don’t disclose the amount of money they earn.
In his latest YouTube video, D-Von Dudley discussed his WWE Legends Deal and the amount of money he earns from some of them.
“Now, there’s a thing called a legends contract, or a legends deal, so to speak. I’m happy to say that me and Bubba got a legends deal. We signed it about two, maybe three years ago, and going strong and making money, it’s been a great opportunity for us, because remember back in the 80s and 90s, once you were done, you were done, we didn’t have anything like this that you could be able to make money off of.
So the times have changed, and I’m definitely glad that I’ve changed with it.”
D-Von Dudley Dives In Further Into What Comes WIth WWE Legends Deal
As he continued, D-Von mentioned a significant amount of money that he sometimes receives as a WWE legend.
“What the legends deals consist of is that the WWE is allowed to use your likeness. They’re allowed put you on video games, to put you on action figures, on cups and T-shirts. You name it, they’ll do it.
You’re still making money one way or another with the company, and most likely it’s really good money.
When you start making merchandise sales, and you get more than $30,000-40,000 a check, I mean, that’s really, really good money, so I’m very happy and content about what’s going on with that.”
It should be noted that not all Legends Deals are the same. It depends on the wrestler and whether WWE wants to use their likeness in games, action figures, and similar products. However, that is a good amount for a Legends Deal, at least for the legendary Dudley Boyz.
