A latest report provided an update on whether there is backstage heat regarding Dominik Mysterio in the WWE.

Since his WWE debut in 2020, Dominik Mysterio has shown great improvement in his craft. He became Intercontinental Champion twice in the last year and also defeated legends like John Cena and AJ Styles. However, since losing the Intercontinental title to Penta earlier this year and losing to Finn Balor at WrestleMania 42, Dominik has not been very happy with his creative direction.

In a recent interview, Dominik Mysterio expressed his unhappiness about WWE not knowing what to do with him despite him beating the likes of John Cena, AJ Styles, and more:

I don’t think they know what to do with me. I’m too cool—like, they have lightning in a bottle and they have no idea what to do with it, so they’re just letting it sit. So I’m like you, brother—I’m just waiting. I could have all the storylines, but like I said, they don’t know what to do with me. I’m good—lightning in a bottle—and they’re holding me. What are they waiting for? I don’t know. I’ve beaten John Cena, AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, Damian Priest. I don’t know what they’re waiting for.”

I’m 29 years old, I’m young—we’ve got all these old fossils working. I don’t know what they’re waiting for. I’m a patient man—I can wait. If they want to put me in Clash in Italy, I’ll put my AAA Mega Title on the line,” Dom stated.

Update on whether Dominik Mysterio has heat within the WWE

After Dominik Mysterio seemingly expressed frustration regarding WWE not knowing what to do with him, many fans on the internet have been wondering whether Dominik Mysterio has some kind of backstage heat within the company.

During the recent Fightful Select Q&ASean Ross Sapp noted that he hasn’t heard about any backstage heat in WWE regarding Dominik Mysterio. Sapp also reported that many people in the company like Dom, and he would not be the AAA Mega Champion if there was any heat:

I’ve never seen or heard anything resembling him having heat backstage anywhere. In fact, everyone I talk to seems to have always liked him. If he had some kind of major heat, they probably would have just had him drop the AAA title too. I don’t think that’s really an issue for him at this stage,” Sapp noted. [H/T Sportskeeda Wrestling]

Meanwhile, Dominik is participating in the ongoing King of the Ring tournament and has advanced to the semi-final.
